My husband and I don't have many full weekends together due to his work schedule. So when we do have the opportunity to spend full days together, we try to make the best of it.

Last week, we drove up 95 seeking some Connecticut seafood. We started with Old Saybrook - driving along the water and enjoying the views and beautiful houses leading into Saybrook Point. The downtown area looked super quaint with the shops and architecture. We drove by Liv's Shack, which seemed to be very popular, but we continued to head North.

We ended up in New London, which boasts gorgeous murals all across the Waterfront District. I googled the best seafood stops in the city and we drove a short distance to Captain Scott's Lobster Dock.

I will say, it felt a little sketchy driving there due to the warehouse-style buildings that line the one-lane road heading to the address, but it was so very much worth it. Captain Scott's is take-out style, with outdoor seating. You place your order at the window and wait for your name to be called.

When my husband and I try new places, we make sure to get a variety of items to enjoy a little of everything. On this trip, we ordered a Lobster Grilled Cheese, Oyster Po'Boy, Scallop BLT, Clam Fritters, and Onion Rings.

WOW!! Everything was so delicious! My favorite item was by far the Lobster Grilled Cheese, although the Clam Fritters were definitely a runner-up!

One thing to note is the patio is dog-free, so if you're travelling with your fur-babies, this may not be the best spot unless you're comfortable leaving them in your car for a little while (**which I would never condone, especially during warm weather).

Overall, this was definitely worth the stop and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the New London area!
